It’s Friday
It’s Friday…
… and I have writer’s block…
Too much going on and …

Waiting. Yes, it is all about waiting.
The Scriptures tell us that many times. To wait on God.
What does that mean?
Look to Him in expectation for all things, here and in eternity.
That is what faith does. Actively leans, rests, looks to, waits for…. And then goes about the day’s business in the surety that He hears us and all things are YES AND AMEN in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Even things we don’t know we will say, YES PLEASE…
And then, “Please, sir, I want some more.” (Yes, a bit of Dickens in the middle of summer!)
And maybe if not now, yes, in eternity!
But waiting is part of exercising our faith—active and passive.
Passive faith just hummmms along trusting for the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation…
Without our noticing most of the time. It is like breathing or our heart beating. Involuntary.
But when in great distress or need, then we notice them don’t we? Yes, with beating hearts and deep breaths.
Active faith is that despite circumstances we still act and do—move about His creation like we own the place. Well, for now we are just custodians, as yet to come into our inheritance. But yes, we are getting it all in the end.
So as I wait still some more to have more doctoring done… to deal with all that comes with it…
This getting old thing… I mean golden years… who has been drinking the cool-aid?
Can I get a refund?
So I will not lean on my own understanding…
But trust in the Lord…
I will wait upon Him…
Many are the afflictions of the Righteous (I am not calling myself that—He calls me that… and guess what? He calls you that too! We are BESPOKEN RIGHTEOUS… as the great Hymn- Thy Strong Word – by Martin Franzmann states!)
Yes, many are these that come upon us… BUT …
The Lord delivers him out of them all! No, truly. Look it up! Psalms 34:19. KJV of course! Psalms seem better from the KJV.
So yes, even though this is Friday, AGAIN thank God that Sunday is only 2 days away…
Where we will hear, see, feel, taste, and know that the Lord is Good! It is where He chooses to give out His best gifts in this world to His children.

Prayers: For a lasting peace that would be established and would remain between the people of Israel and Gaza as well as for the People of Russia and the Ukraine. Between the US and Iran. For our congregation that it would please our Lord that we would increase in numbers and there remain in this place a congregation that calls upon Him rightly, practicing the faith according to the Scriptures. For those who are being persecuted and murdered because they call upon the name of Jesus—especially in Africa. For the end of violence in our cites and that our schools and congregations would be protected from those who wish them harm. For our families that parents would courageously discipline their children and raise them in the fear of the Lord, teaching them about salvation in Jesus alone.
