Cookie Dough Order Pick Up

The Cookie dough pick up has been changed to Tuesday, November 15th at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We have no room to store the orders, so please be sure and pick the orders up on the scheduled date and time. Thank you.
Also, the cookie dough will be delivered to the church at 10:00 am and we could use volunteers to help with the sorting. Please let us know if you will be able to help.

Women Of St. Timothy (WOST)

As our new year begins (9/1/11), we thought it was a good idea to again invite all women of the congregation to be part of our group and to give some information on our mission.
We meet once a month on the second Tuesday every month at 7:00 pm. during the months of September through April with a final get-together dinner in May. Our main mission is to financially support the Meditations subscription; assist the church with donations where needed, make yearly monetary donations to charities and provide thank you/holiday gifts yearly to the pastor, church secretary and church organist. We also make it our mission to keep the church kitchen clean. To support our mission we have various fundraisers throughout the year such as the cookie dough sale in the fall, miscellaneous fundraisers such as Pampered Chef, Dairy Queen and night out meals at various local restaurants that offer a percentage of the sales to our organization. We appreciate any support/participation with these fundraisers from the congregation and friends.

Fuddruckers Benefit Night for the Women Of St. Timothy

FUDDRUCKERS BENEFIT NIGHT FOR THE WOMEN OF ST. TIMOTHY will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm. When you eat at Fuddruckers on April 20th, WOST will receive 10 – 20% of the proceeds. You must present the coupon at the time of your order for your meal to qualify. The participating Fuddruckers is at 1500 Branding Lane in Downers Grove. Please come in and support the Women of St. Timothy.

Women’s Bible Fellowship

Abraham and Sarah were pretty old when God promised them a child. They couldn’t help but snicker, and so the name of the child would be Isaac, “laughter”. The Lord changed Abram’s name to Abraham and Sarai’s to Sarah. God even revealed His Name out of the burning bush: “I am who I am” or “I will be who I will be”: Yahweh (Exodus 3:13-15). To know God’s Name is to enjoy a relationship with Him. Indeed, God promised to make his “name dwell” in the midst of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 12:10-11).
Solomon built a Temple where God’s “name” would dwell (1 Kings 8:20). The LORD wants to reassure us of His presence and His comfort. Wherever we may be, He is “the Lord Who sees and hears,” Jehovah-Rohi. We come to understand God’s Names best in His ultimate self-revelation in His Son, Jesus Christ! Come hear God reveal His Names to us in His precious Word, and may His comforting Name dwell in the tents of your hearts this fall and always.
A ten-week Bible study, starting on September 11th and running through November 20th, will be on Saturdays at 2 pm. If you are interested, please contact the office by phone at 630-627-2435

Illiana Women’s Mission Society Rally

The third-annual Illiana (Illinois & Indiana) Women’s Mission Society Rally, scheduled for Saturday, November 6, will be hosted this year hear at St. Timothy. Speakers for the 2010 Rally are ELS World Outreach Administrator Steve Petersen and Nick and Kerry Laper, from Gift of Life in Ukraine. A full day is planned for the Rally, including: 1) the privilege to become informed and educated about ELS mission work across the globe; 2) time to share conversation and food; 3) an opportunity to contribute to ELS mission efforts; 4) special music; and 5) our Annual Meeting.
All women in Circuit 4 congregations are encouraged to set aside November 6 and plan to be present at the Rally. Those who attended the 2009 Rally can tell you just what an enjoyable and worthwhile experience it was. And though the event is geared toward the women’s groups of our circuit congregations, men also are invited, and we welcome guests of our attendees as well. So don’t wait; register now with your congregations’ Rally contact, Sue Mecklenburg. Registration deadline is October 3. Detailed information can be found on the Rally Fact Sheet posted on the bulletin board in the narthex.

Cookie Dough Sale

The Women of St. Timothy are in the process of selling cookie dough. The cookie dough tubs are $10.00 this year and popcorn is also available. Orders need to be turned in no later than October 10th. The funds raised from the sale will help defer some of the cost of the lighted front yard sign for the church.

Women’s Retreat – Good Shepherd

Ladies! Come join in fun and fellowship at the "Bloom Where You Are Planted" Women’s Retreat at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Downers Grove on Saturday, October 3rd. The retreat begins at 8:30 am with registration, light breakfast, and opening activities. The inspirational guest speaker, Mary Heins, the Associate Professor of Communication at Wisconsin Lutheran college, will lead us in ways to "blossom" in Christ. Lunch will be catered. Registration fee is $20.00. Fellowship will close at 3:00 pm.

Rally Day 2009

Sunday Morning Bible Class & Sunday School

Something for all ages! Kids have songs and crafts and Bible Stories. Adults are studying the history behind the letters of the New Testament and the beginning of the church. Sundays at 9:00 AM

Search the Scripture Hour

Classes meet Thursday evenings at 7 PM in a pleasant informal atmosphere in the Church library. Classes start with an introductory session on Thursday, September 17, at 7pm.

Wednesday Bible Fellowship

Join us for an evening of good fellowship as we go over the key events in Biblical history that tell us how God promised the Savior, preserved the promise, fullfilled in, and brought the promise to the world. Wednesdays at 7pm at the Parsonage, beginning September 16.

Youth Bible Fellowship

We gather for good fellowship and take some time to examine the challenges to our faith in the light of God’s word. For high school and college students.
